A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) headed by its President Mr. Mohammed Salim FCMA called on Md. Md. Munsur Ali Sikder ndc, Chairman, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation(BCIC) at his office on September 01, 2014.
The ICMAB President apprised the Chairman, BCIC about the role of Cost and Management Accountants and their contribution towards the establishment of transparency, accountability and corporate governance in the business and industrial sectors of our country. Besides the discussion on the matters of mutual professional interest, President ICMAB also explained how the trade and industries sector of the country could be benefited through Cost Audit.

He also urged upon the need for implementing Cost Audit in different fertilizer factories, in accordance with the decision of the Govt published through Gazette notification.

The BCIC Chairman gave the assurance of implementing the decision of the Govt with regards to Cost Audit gradually and step by step. He assured that Jamuna Fertilizer Company may be a good example to start cost audit first within a month.

Among ICMAB delegates Vice President Arif Khan FCMA, Council Member Mr. M. Abul Kalam Muzumdar, FCMA, Prof. Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed FCMA, Council Member Mr.AKM Delwer Hussain FCMA and Director of the Institute Lt. Col. Md Humayun Kabir psc (Rtd.) were present in the meeting. On the otherhand BCIC Director (Finance) Md. Abdul Hye, Controller of Accounts Mohammad Shaheen Kamal were also present during above discussion.
